Equine Assisted Learning
Hinterland Horses offers Equine Assisted Interactive Experiences in a relaxed, safe and beautiful setting in the Byron Bay Hinterland.
There has always been a unique bond between horses and humans.
We watch as transformations evolve when clients relax in the presence of theses majestic spiritual beings and connect with the healing energies of this special place in the hinterland.
“Getting back to Nature and connecting with Horses is where we witness Miracles happening.”
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is experiential learning where clients learn through direct interactions with horses and each session is tailored to the needs of each individual.
Horses with their natural ability offer a non judgemental space for individuals to explore their feelings and behaviours.
These sentient beings require individuals to be fully engaged in the moment, pushing aside worries, anxieties and distractions.
Our work with horses is deeply intuitive and spiritual, as it connects to our body, mind, heart and spirit in a holistic way. The practise of mindfulness, facilitated by the need to attune to the horses movements and responses can help to regulate emotions, and alleviate stress and anxiety.
Equine connections can also be very helpful with addressing children’s needs such as:
all living skills
communication
self regulation
emotional intelligence
boundaries
respectful relationships with others
building trust
developing imagination
Through theses interactions, clients may develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships and their behaviours.
One profound aspect of the healing power of horses is the unconditional acceptance they offer. They respond to the sincerity and intention of the individuals that they interact with encouraging them to be their true authentic selves.
For some facing judgement, criticism, rejection in other areas of their lives, this acceptance is incredibly healing. It provides a sanctuary where individuals can be themselves and experience the transformative power of being accepted for who they truly are.
